There is good news –

  1. If your foreclosure was a foreclosure by advertisement, the lender that took your property to the sheriff’s sale cannot pursue you for a deficiency.
  2. You still have about 5 months to sell your property and keep a foreclosure off your record.

The bad news is –

  1. If you have a second mortgage or home equity line of credit, you may still owe all of that after the foreclosure. (This can be negotiated.)
  2. You may owe taxes as well. (If it is your primary residence, this may be reduced or eliminated.)
